u20's Win at Kilmarnock

The u20's squad travelled to Rugby Park this afternoon to take on Kilmarnock's 20's who included a number of players who have featured for their first team in recent weeks.

Queens started well and were on top for most of the opening period but couldn't find the net. Danny Armstrong, in the Queens goal, was troubled only once when he made a fine save just before the interval.

Ten minutes into the second period the deadlock was broken when Dean Brotherston's corner kick was well finished by Connor Murray. Fifteen minutes later Owen Bell added a well taken second goal and Queens spurned other chances before the end. Armstrong again produced an excellent block to deny the home side ten minutes from time but the young lads saw out their clean sheet comfortably enough in the end.

Overall a very good performance and hard earned 2-0 victory in preparation for Tuesday's Development League match at home to Stranraer, 8pm kick off.
