After the weekends Scottish Cup victory it was a return to League action as leaders Morton visited a foggy Palmerston.
A bad start for the young Queens side as in 2 minutes a deflected cross/shot fell perfectly for Morton striker McWatters to knock the ball past Armstrong for an early goal.
While that may have been fortunate five minutes later there was nothing to complain about as Tiffoney picked up the ball on half way and dribbled a la Maradona past most of the Queens midfield and defence before calmly placing it past Armstrong for what was a superb individual goal.
Queens battled back and twice Neil just failed to get on the end of crosses from Brotherston who seemed to have the beating of his man for most of the night. Just as it looked like Queens could gain a foothold in the game a Morton counter saw Sonkur take his man down in the box and from the penalty Orr made it 3-0.
Both sides missed chances as the first half drew to a close with Mortons Quitongo hitting the side net and Connor Murray, Neil and Sonkur sending efforts wide.
With the fog closing in the second half kicked off and Nelson was desperately unlucky to see his 20 yard shot come back off the bar as again Queens looked to get back into the game. Clear cut chances though were hard to come by and indeed the visitors looked a threat on the counter throughout. Queens introduced two of the U17 squad, Thomson and Tremble, during the half to give them a first taste of higher age group football.
The last action of note saw Morton keeper, McGowan, tip over a long range effort from Queens - not sure who it was who had the shot as the fog was getting particularly thick now though not thick enough to see the ref call a premature halt to proceedings!
