Update from the Manager

With our last game being played on Friday night, we've had a bit more time to wait for our next game, but the boys have had a good week at training and confidence is high.  We're just keen to get going as its matches like the one against Hibernian that players want to play in.

Looking back at our game against Falkirk, it certainly wasn't a classic, we didn’t play as well as we’d have liked but against a good Falkirk side that have started their Championship campaign well, I believe it was a good point away from home.

After the disappointing results we’d had prior to the game we knew we had to tighten up defensively.  I thought we defended well as a team and were rewarded with a clean-sheet.  We now need to keep that going and be more clinical in the final third.  We’ll keep working on both aspects and I’m sure we’ll start turning draws into wins.

As we head into the game against Hibs, the final game of the first quarter, we're a few points behind where we'd have hoped to be at this stage but we've still got a long way to go so there's plenty of time to make that up.

Looking back on the season so far, it's been strange.  We picked up wins without playing well in our opening league matches and since then I've felt the performances have improved but we've not taken so many points. But as I say we will keep working hard and hopefully we will gel and start to get both the performances and results together.

Our home record this season hasn't been as good as it was last year - something we need to rectify. Last season our home results were good and teams feared coming to play at Palmerston - we need to get that back as we want Palmerston to be a fortress of fear for teams again.

In terms of the squad – Iain Russell. Dale Hilson and Calum Tapping are all still missing through injury and with Hibs being his parent club Alex Harris is ineligible for this one.

Thanks again for your continued support.
