Queen of the South are having a ball ..... the club are delighted to announce their third Hall of Fame induction dinner, which this year takes place as a ball at The Easterbrook in Dumfries on the 24th of October 2015.
Current striker, Derek Lyle who again found the net at the weekend, in our opening league match against Alloa, is one of those being honored this year. He will be inducted along with former Chairmen, Norman Blount and Davie Rae who will both receive outstanding achievement awards.
The loyal three have been chosen by the Club, but members of the public can also have their say as another two inductees will be decided by a public vote. Votes can be made by email to [email protected], by telephoning the club office on 01387 254853 or in person at Palmerston Park Dumfries.
The autumn event is being held in conjunction with the Easterbrook team and John McGee, Managing Director at the Crichton, stated “Easterbrook Hall are delighted to be hosting The Queen of the South “Hall of Fame” ball on Saturday 24 October 2015".
"This prestigious event will allow QOS supporters, players and families to enjoy an evening of great food, first class entertainment and a chance to catch up with great QOS players past and present".
"I have been privileged to be involved personally with Billy Hewitson and staff at QOS for the past three years and can't help but be impressed with their energy, commitment and passion within the region and beyond. I hope that the support we are giving to the Hall of Fame event will demonstrate the Trust’s commitment to engaging with the local community, local charities whilst helping support the future success of QOS".
Queens Commercial manager, Victoria Thomson added "The Hall of Fame has proved to be a popular addition to the club. This will be our third round of inductees and I hope this one proves to be as successful as the other two. We are delighted to be able to honor those who have been loyal servants to the club over the years, past and present. We are also delighted to be holding the event in conjunction with The Easterbrook, to hold the event at one of the town's renowned venues gives it the prestige it deserves".
