McIntyre looks ahead to Raith

Queens travel to Stark’s Park to take on Raith tonight in a vital match in the Championship.

After Saturday’s disappointing 2-1 defeat to Falkirk, Queens now sit level on points with Dumbarton and tonight’s clash makes up Queens’ game in hand.

The last two winners of the Ramsdens Cup go head to head tonight and Queens boss Jim McIntyre wants a good response from his team.

He said: “It’s always disappointing to lose any match but especially at this time of the season, however we have to pick ourselves up for Raith.

“The game in hand is important for us but we have to go there and get the job done.

“It’s great having a game on a Tuesday because you’re not sitting dwelling on Saturday’s result all week – and it’s a chance to put things right.

“All the games are important now and it doesn’t matter if it’s a game in hand or not, we have to do what we can to win it.

“The level of the performance from the players has been great lately and we need that to continue.

“This is such a tight league and we now have a huge couple of games ahead of us this week but I always expected the play-offs to go right down to the wire.”

With only four games left for Queens a win tonight would set up an intriguing tie with Dumbarton on Saturday to determine who makes the play-offs, with a chance to play Premiership football next season.
