Reilly rallies for more

Gavin Reilly wants two things from this season – more goals and more wins.

The 20-year-old hit his eighth goal of the season against Dumbarton on Saturday and the forward was delighted with getting his name on the scoresheet.

However, the Queens ace insists the team is the most important thing when it comes to putting on the blue jersey.

He said: “It’s good to get scoring again but that was two games on the bounce that we lost so it’s great to get back to winning ways again.

“After that result we’re also back in to fourth place and back in the mix which is brilliant.

“Of course it’s always nice to get a goal though and I’ll always be trying to score when I’m playing.

“I hope to be starting and scoring all the time but first and foremost we’re a team and three points is the most important thing.”

Reilly also knows that the Championship is an unpredictable league with shocks happening all the time, so the youngster is eager for Queens to focus on their own business first.

The striker turned his attention to the tie against Hamilton next weekend as an important one in the landscape of the Palmerston side’s season.

He said: “It’s such a cut-throat league and teams are capable of beating every other team and positions are always changing.

“All we’ve got to do is concentrate on fourth place and making sure we stay there or even push up the table.

“It’s always a tough game against Hamilton and they’ve shown that in the league this year.

“However, we’re the home team next week and we’ve got to come out and show them that we’re at home and that we want to take all three points, which is hopefully what we’ll do.”
