Queen of the South recorded their fourth league win in five this season with a 4-2 victory over Ayr United at Somerset Park.

Manager Allan Johnston saw his side go behind twice in the first half before going on to win the game comfortably in the second half.

"We made hard work of it in the first half, started really slow. Maybe down to not having a game last weekend.

"They didn`t let their heads go down, we came back and obviously its good to score a few goals.  All credit to the lads for the way they came back.

"I thought we created lots of chances and were worthy winners in the end."
