Queens continued their 100% pre-season record today when a strong looking side beat Gretna 2008 4-0 at Raydale Park. Like last weekend the game was over as a contest by half time with Queens 3-0 up. The first goal arrived on 18 minutes when McGuffie met a right sided set piece with a header which Ross Hyslop in the home goal parried up onto the bar. Nicky Clark headed the rebound back towards goal and it was headed away from the line. However, the referee stopped play and awarded a goal. I`m not sure which effort actually crossed the line but Clark appeared to get the congratulations from the other players. Just after the half hour mark Smith and Clark combined to set Kevin Holt up with an open goal for the second and Smith himself nodded in a third just before the break.
The second half saw far less goalmouth action but substitute Gavin Reilly scored a fourth goal late on.
