Young goalkeeper who has this season started training with the first team squad. His 1st team debut was in the last game of the season 1-0 league win at Albion Rovers, 4th May 2013.

Joined Queens on a Modern Apprenticeship in 2009 and has gained Scottish representative honours. Black made his QoS first team debut in a sub appearance in a 4-1 win v Stirling and a month later had his first start in a 1-0 defeat to Ross County. Loaned to Annan in March 2013.

The Ayrshire lad secured his place in club history by scoring the second goal in the epic Scottish Cup semi final win over Aberdeen in 2008. He made over 250 appearnces in his first spell at Queens before joining SPL Dunfermine in Summer 2011. Burns returned to QoS a year later.

Nippy and tricky attacking player who joined in a two year deal from Gretna 2008 at the end of the 2009/10 season. The deal had been set up by Gordon Chisholm before he left. Among Carmichael’s goals was a strike in Allan Johnston’s first game in charge. 2012/13 divisional player of the year nominee (won by Nicky Clark), Carmichael signed a contract extension on 26 April 2013.

Snapped up in July 2011 after leaving Peterhead. Nicky is the son of former West Ham, Rangers and Hearts player, Sandy Clark, who now also has QoS service on his CV from his role in the coaching staff. Moved into the striking role to great effect following Allan Johnston’s appointment as manager, Nicky scored the openers in the cup wins against both Hibs and Rangers. November 2012 Player of the month. Clark hit his 1st hat trick of his career in the 4-1 Boxing Day win against Stranraer. He is the 1st QoS player to score 30 goals in a season since Andy Thomson. Scored in Challenge Cup Final win v Partick. His 2nd hat trick was against Forfar. His 41 goals for the season equalled the 81 year old club record of Jimmy Rutherford. Divisional player of the year.

Big, tall & strong centre back announced on 25th July 2012 as having joined QoS at 19 years old from St Johnstone. As well as scoring he contributed 2 assists in the Feb 2013 3-0 defeat of Albion Rovers. He scored again 7 days later in the 3-2 win at East Fife. Durnan was announced on 17 April 2013 as having signed a one year contract extension.

Over 140 competitive games for Motherwell and over 50 with Ross County as an ex team mate of Rocco Quinn and Colin McMenamin. Brought in to play left back in the Challenge Cup Final with Kevin Holt suspended. Fitzpatrick 1st appeared on a QoS teamsheet as a trialist on 9 March 2013 v Ayr. He debuted for Queens the week after in a 1-1 draw at Arbroath, again as a trialist before being announced as having signed for Queens. Played well in the game he was specifically signed for including scoring in the shoot out.

Made Club Captain by Allan Johnston in Summer 2012. Left footed, the Centre Back has also played at Left Back. Joined Queens in July 2011 immediately after winning the First Division title with Dunfermline. A dependable leader as well as a fine player, he is the first ever QoS Captain to win a senior double of league and cup.

A left footed player, Holt joined the u19 squad on a part time deal whilst learning a career in banking but went full time with the first team squad from the start of season 2011/12. Signed an extended deal in December 2011 after making his 1st team debut in a 4-1 win against Morton in September that year. Well established in the 1st team set up in his teens.

Much travelled forward rejoined QoS in August 2012. Something of a Palmerston trophy magnet, he was previously at Queens for 4 years including the 2002 Division Two Championship and Challenge Cup wins. Lyle scored the second goal in that Challenge Cup Final. Over 100 QoS 1st team appearances in that 1st spell. His involvment in the 2012/13 league and cup double makes the tanned talisman the 1st ever player to play in 4 senior trophy winning teams for Queen of the South.

Highly experienced local lad of positional versatility who finally signed for his home town club in 2010. Scored for Gretna in the 2006 Scottish Cup Final. For Queens he scored the winning penalty in the shoot out in the Challenge Cup win against Rangers at Ibrox. Vice Captain in the double winning season but Captain for the day of his 100th QoS appearance.

Signed two days before the start of the 2009/10 league campaign. Determined and competitive ball winner also able to find his own men with the ball. He scored with long range screamers two weeks in a row against Morton and then Ayr. Over 100 1st team appearances for QoS. A key player in the double winning season, on 17 April 2013 he was announced as having signed a 1year contract extension.

Former Scotland u21 internationalist who joined the club on 26 July 2012 after a year with Bradford City. Mitchell scored nine minutes into his competitive debut in the 5-2 League Cup win against Alloa. He had previously played for Falkirk for four years. Mitchell played in all the big cup games against Hibs, Rangers, Dundee United and Kilmarnock. With an excellent season in the double winning campaign he was announced as signing a 1 year contract extension on 17 April 2013.

Another to have gained Scottish representative honours, Orsi signed a Modern Apprenticeship deal in July 2010 although he had been on the bench at the tail end of the previous season. He was Man of the match in his first senior start, a 4-1 win over Stirling. However he had a year out the game after picking up a serious injury in his next game. Loaned to Annan in early 2013.

A product of Aberdeen youth academy, Paton also played competitive first team football in loan spells at Brechin and Stockport. At Aberdeen he scored against both sides of the Old Firm. In League and Cup Paton notched up 89 appearances and 14 goals at his previous clubs with 30 of those appearances being as sub. Paton was announced as having signed for Queens on 1st March 2013 after having been on trial. He debuted as a sub next day in the 3-2 win at East Fife. His 1st QoS goals were 2 in the title clinching 6-0 win away to Brechin.

Signed a part time deal in July 2010 after turning down the offer of a Modern Apprenticeship place in favour of a non-football apprenticeship. Made his debut soon after and scored against Dumbarton but then spent most of the rest of the season on loan to Gretna 2008. Reilly scored his first senior hat trick on 1st September 2012 in the 6-0 win against Arbroath. He scored the second Queens goal in the cup wins against both Hibs and Rangers. Another announced on 17 April 2013 as having signed a one year contract extension

Signed in July 2011 for a third spell at Queens. Robinson’s goalkeeping earned him QoS 2011/12 Player of the Year recognition. His penalty shoot out save separated the sides in the Challenge Cup win against Rangers at Ibrox. Notched his 100th senior QoS appearance in the 5-0 thrashing of Stranraer. Man of the match in the Challenge Cup Final win v Partick for his immense penalty scoring and saving heroics. Profiled in detail elsewhere on this website.

Coming through from the youth set, Slattery scored two in the 2012 under 19 Scottish Cup semi final win, 5-4, against Dundee United. His 1st team debut was late in the double winning season in the 2-0 home win v Stranraer on 13 April 2013.

Although Edinburgh born, Kevin spent his early career in England with Leeds and Sunderland before joining Dundee United. Pre Queens he is best known in this country though for his time on loan at Raith Rovers. Returned to Scotland with Queens after another season down South with Notts County. His debut was in the early season Challenge Cup extra time exit at Ayr. His younger brother Gordon Smith is a also a pro footballer (Livingston & Hearts among other clubs).

Experienced, sensible, get and give midfielder who played for Aberdeen along with Barry Nicholson when Queens won 4-3 in the 2008 Scottish Cup semi final. He joined QoS in August 2012 debuting on the 4th as a registered QoS player in the 5-2 win against Alloa. An astute Allan Johnston signing.

Signing for Queens in July 2011, the young forward who came through as a youth with Hearts but never made the first team there before joining Clyde and later Albion Rovers. He came to the attention of Gus MacPherson and Andy Millen after rejoining Clyde.

Returned in June 2012 for his second spell on the Palmerston books. With 2 useful feet, Gibson made 107 QoS appearances following his break through in his first spell for his home town club. He moved to Kilmarnock in a deal involving Jamie Adams’ first loan to Queens. At Killie he was a team mate of Allan Johnston. His first goal post return was in the 6-0 win against Arbroath. He was announced on 17 April 2013 as having moved on.

Former Hamilton Accies youngster who was highly rated there before injury disrupted his progress. Hopkirk signed a half season deal on 9th August 2012. Spent much of his time on the Queens’ books on loan at Annan. He was announced as moving on when his half season deal expired.
