We are happy to be able to confirm that David Hopkirk today put pen to paper on a short term contract taking him through to December 31st. The former Hamilton youngster has spent pre-season with us and played in a number of the friendlies. Manager Allan Johnston was keen to get an extended chance to work with `Hoppy` who is just 19 years old and has agreed a deal which will expire at the beginning of the next transfer window. It gives both club and player the opportunity to see if a longer term deal would be mutually beneficial. `Hoppy` also spent a few months last season as part of the reserve set up at Hearts though he did not formally sign for them. He should go into the pool for Saturday`s opening league game against Forfar once the SFA and SFL clear his paperwork.
