We are disappointed to confirm that Paul Burns will be leaving the club this week. 'Burner', who has recently had a testimonial season, signed a new contract at the end of last season despite having missed almost all of the playing season through injury. In spite of the injury he was an enormous help to James Fowler with his off the park influence and assisted on matchdays and with the 20's and 17's squads. However, Paul has now been offered a good full time job outside football that he feels unable to turn down and he will therefore be giving up full time football.

It obviously goes without saying that Paul will be missed at the club and leaves with the best wishes of everyone here. He came through our youth set up and has made well over 300 appearances for the first team in two spells either side of a year at Dunfermline Athletic, scoring 37 times.

Paul will be involved against Kilmarnock tomorrow evening to make a farewell appearance in a Queens shirt.
