Two year contract for David Hutton
Queens today signed another goalkeeper to take their squad up to 18. David Hutton, formerly with Aberdeen and Clyde put pen to paper on a two year deal and says, "I'm delighted with the move as Queens are a good team with a nice stadium".
David signed for Aberdeen in 2004 then, after a brief spell in the Junior ranks with Petershill, he moved on to Clyde and spent three seasons at Broadwood.
He made close on 100 First Team appearances for Clyde and proved popular with the fans being voted 'Player of the Year' in season 2007/8. Last season he turned out 19 times but his worst memory was losing 7-1 to Queens at Palmerston earlier this year.
"The goals just went flying past me that afternoon" he claims, "And Stephen Dobbie netted four of them so he'll be sadly missed. Bobby Harris was a team-mate of mine at Broadwood and so too was Willie McLaren who signed on at Palmerston only recently. I also have a lot of respect for Steve Tosh who knows the game 'inside out'.
"I've seen the training facilities at Glasgow Green before and was most impressed--I just can't wait for the new season to start now".
Asked about his rival Ludovic Roy, David insists, "I don't reall know Ludovic very well but if course I've heard of him. However, I aim to make that Number One jersey my own.
"In the present climate to get a place at Queen of the South is great as they've had a couple of very impressive seasons. So I'm raring to go!"

Speaking on the new signings Chairman, David Rae, acknowledged, "We now have a squad of 18 signed players but we may just sign one more. The manager has his eye on a striker but I'm not naming names". However he just shook his head when the name 'Fleck' was mentioned by the press.
He then added, "Our squad might not be quite as big as it was last season but I feel we have signed better quality players and we have a good mix between youth and experience.
"This coming season I want to see us make a better start in the two early cup competitions. We had a tremendous start in the league before falling away a bit but still managed to finish in the top half of the table".
When asked to name his best bet for promotion he insisted, "Dundee must be hot favourites at this moment in time, but you never know in football".
